The problems aren’t over for Uber and, in the company’s attempt to repair its already damaged reputation, due to a series of scandals, co-founder and CEO Travis Kalanick announced that he will step away. Also, the company is planning to embark on a sweeping reorganization, just to make sure that executives will be more closely supervised by the directors board, says the The New York Times.

Tuesday’s meeting was far from being a relaxed one

During a meeting with employees on Tuesday morning, Uber released a 13-pages report, containing recommendations compiled as a part of the already infamous sexual harassment investigation, as well as other aspects, conducted by Covington & Burlington law firm, lead by former attorney general Eric H. Holder Jr.

Arianna Huffington, one of the board members, talked about how a female director in the company automatically leads to more female directors, while David Bonderman, another Uber claiming that this would result in “more talking”.

Like expected, this created a big waver on criticism, especially on Twitter. Eventually, a few hours later, Bonderman apologized to Arianna Huffington and eventually resigned from his position a few hours later.

Mr. Kalanick doesn’t quit, though!

“I do not want my comments to create distraction as Uber works to build a culture of which we can be proud,” he said in a statement. “I need to hold myself to the same standards that we’re asking Uber to adopt. Therefore, I have decided to resign from Uber’s board of directors.”

As for Travis Kalanick, he announced the employees that he’s planning to take some time off, in order to reflect on putting together a “world-class leadership team” for Uber. However, the CEO didn’t mention anything about the length of his break and we wasn’t present at the meeting either. Hopefully, he will be able to come up with some great solutions, in order to maintain Uber on the market, despite all the problems they’ve been dealing with lately.
