Over the past years, there was a lot of buzz around Elon Musk’s company, Tesla. We can even say that it’s the most popular electric car manufacturer nowadays, so everybody is expecting big things from them. After all, what’s not to like? The owner is a business icon and the cars, beside being eco-friendly, look extremely good.

Still, as good as everything might look, the launch of the new electric SUV, Tesla Model X, revealed the company’s disastrous abilities of managing a major event like this.

Never arrive late, especially when you’re Tesla’s CEO

According to Venture Beat, Stewart Aslop, a Tesla customer and prominent venture capitalist had a very angrily reaction after the Tesla Model X launch event, calling it “unacceptable” and “insensitive”, in his Medium post. Besides this, he also pointed to the presentation and the slideshow, which, in his opinion, looked like being made by amateurs.

One of the main reasons that caused this reaction was the delayed start. The launch of the Tesla Model X was supposed to begin yesterday, at 7:00 PM but ended up starting at 7:50 PM. Like expected this caused a lot of negative reactions.

Also, it was Elon Musk’s presentation that seemed totally off. The company’s founder stumbled constantly while delivering a very boring and long speech about why the new Tesla Model X is safe.

Will this affect sales?

The above-mentioned source states that there was a total lack of PR and marketing during the presentation, aspects which should raise some question marks, especially when such a big name like Tesla is involved.

Finally, even though the event was criticized, it’s less likely to affect the company’s sales, in some way or another. The Model X will definitely sell well, thanks to all the hype the brand managed to create, but the media won’t forget about it any time soon.
