The main reason why she is considered the most powerful woman in the world is her immense influence over the global financial markets and the U.S economy. Not to mention that her public declaration can have a huge financial impact.
Currently, Janet Yellen is receiving a lot of attention from the media, as the she and the Federal reserve’s committee could take a historical decision this week. To be more specific, they are expected to vote the raise of the Fed’s key interest rate for the first time in almost ten years.

She was appointed as the 15th Chair of the Federal Reserve on February 3, 2014, where she spent most of her time continuing the policies started by her predecessor, Ben Bernanke.
Experts claim that the way she will handle the first interest rake hike will definitely have an influence on her position. If this move will have a positive result, it will only strengthen her position as the most powerful woman in the world.
