Checking Credit Card

If you’re a big fan of Sony’s gaming console, then you will probably be very happy to find out that the PlayStation credit card is now a thing!

And it pretty much works like a rewards credit card, offering you some compensation for all the money you’re spending on games, add-ons, PS Plus subscriptions and many more.

Ok, please tell me more!

Alongside Visa, Sony launched a special credit card from Capital One, which can be used for enjoying discounts and redeemable points if you’re after Sony Gear or PlayStation services, says Engadget.

Basically, you’re already receiving Sony Rewards points for the stuff you buy, but with this new card, you will receive five times the usual points every time you shop at the PlayStation Store.

And this is not all, since you can receive a similar amount for Sony Products, as long as you fill out a Bonus Points form. There’s also the chance to get 10 percent off subscriptions to PlayStation Music, Now and Vue, as credit, as well as half of your Plus subscription, if you manage to spend at least $3,000 with the card, in the first 12 months.

Sounds good, but what are the minuses?

The above mentioned source reveals that the PlayStation credit card doesn’t have an annual fee, but you will need some time in order to gather enough points which allow you to actually buy something.

In order to make things simpler, you get the equivalent of $1 for every 100 points you have, so forget about getting a new console for free with the card! The requirement for additional bonuses doesn’t help that much either.

Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the card is truly useful for those who are fans of Sony’s Playstation universe, because other products from the manufacturer aren’t covered by the card’s benefits. However, it your current rewards credit card doesn’t offer at least similar benefits, it’s not bad giving this one a try!

What are your thoughts on this? Would you be curious about the new PlayStation card or do you think it’s something that won’t have so many users as they expect?
