If you’re always after the best rewards credit cards and are born in the 90s, then you could be interested in the new card which will be introduced by American Express and Delta Air Lines.

Targeting millennials and infrequent travelers, the Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card comes with no annual fee and it’s the only card like this issued alongside a U.S.-based global airline that gives two miles for each dollar you spent, says Forbes.

Sticking to one airline?  A bit difficult…

However, in order to earn those miles, you need to spend only at “eligible Delta restaurants”. Also, if you spend money on other eligible purchases, you will receive just one mile, according to the same source.

Basically, this new credit card can be considered as a starter kit for anybody interested in the credit card rewards game. Also, if you tend to fly with Delta a lot, it’s definitely an option worth considering.

However, according to analyst Matt Schulz, from CreditCard.com, “the problem is that most people aren’t loyal to one airline. The biggest thing they want with their credit-card rewards is flexibility, and cards that are tied to one airline or one hotel chain just can’t match the flexibility that comes with a general-points card.”

In most cases, cardholders are actually willing to pay even a large annual fee in order to get their hands on a card that allows them to keep their rewards travel options as open as possible.

More miles and no fee. A great deal?

Back to the Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, the company’s representatives claim that it’s able to deliver “incredible value to those who want to earn miles in an accelerated way while enjoying the peace of mind that their miles won’t expire — all without paying an annual fee.”

Recently, both American Express and Delta conducted a poll, showing that U.S.-based consumers, between 18 and 34, are more likely to opt for leisure traveling in the next year, compared to other groups. They also tend to dine out more often, on a regular basis, so it’s obvious that this card can be one of the best choices for them.
